LBSC Winter Series 2009 - Sailing Instructions and Results
 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
. Sailing Instructions
Program: Races will be sailed on Saturday, 6th May, 4th July, 1st August, 29th August and 19th September 2009
 Up to 5 races will be sailed each race day, subject to weather conditions
Safety Fee:

Payable at nomination each race day at nomination
Youth classes - $3 per sailor  and Senior classes - $5 per sailor

Notification of cancellation 

In the event of bad weather being forecast, a scheduled race day may be cancelled.
Cancellation will be notified to skippers of all registered Boats as late as 8:00pm on the Friday before the scheduled race day that the cancellation will affect. 
Notice of cancellation will be sent by SMS (Text Message) to the mobile number provided on the registration form.
Prizes Drink vouchers will be awarded to the crews of the most consistent boat in each class
Youth classes 125 – 12 ft Cadet – 303 – 420 – Heron – Holdfast Trainer – Intl Cadet
Senior classes Aust Sharpie – Cherub – Fireball – TS16 – Usual TS – Laser – Other classes
 
Start Signals:__ 1400 hours      Warning Signal for Youth classes NN1 displayed
. 1401   Preparatory Signal Flag P displayed
. 1402 One Minute Signal  Flag P removed
. 1403    Start 1 - Youth classes NN1 removed
. 1404 hours Warning Signal for Senior classes NN2 displayed
. 1405  Preparatory Signal Flag P displayed 
. 1406 One Minute Signal  Flag P removed
. 1407 Start 2 - Senior classes NN2 removed
   
Starting Procedures:__________
  1. The display and removal of flags will be accompanied by 1 sound signal.
  2. The warning signal for races 2, 3, 4 & 5 will be displayed as soon as possible after the last boat finishes the previous race or the time limit expires.
  3. The time limit for a race will be 30 minutes for all classes.
  4. The Answering pennant will be displayed on the finish boat to indicate another race will be sailed.

Change to RRS

Rule 30.3 is changed to read:

  1. If a black flag has been displayed, no part of a boats hull, crew or equipment shall be in the triangle formed by the ends of the starting line and the first mark in the 30 seconds before her start signal.
  2. If a boat breaks this rule and is identified, she may be disqualified without a hearing in the race being started, should the race continue.
  3. In the event of a restart due to general recall, postponement or abandonment, the disqualification will be removed.  
  4. A boat may exonerate herself for breaking this rule by sailing around an end of the start line and then remain behind the start line until all other boats in her start sequence have cleared the starting line before she may restart.
Course:    Start – 1 – 2 – 3 – 1 – 3 - Finish
Start Line:     Approx 1/3 distance from leeward to weather mark
Course Length: Distance approx 300m from mark 3 to mark 1.
Race Time:   Approx 15-30 minutes
